Beargrass Media Home School Video Club

Beargrass Media runs school-based video clubs throughout the school year. We also run two summer video camps and a winter video camp. These are designed to teach kids in grades 2-8 how to write, record, and edit videos. After her kids had attended video camps over the past couple years, home school parent Brigid Kaelin contacted us about putting out a survey to see if we could offer a video club to home school families.
If you think you might have some interest, please fill out the short survey below to indicate your interest and possible availability and location for meetings. We have posted a few videos below the survey so you can get an example of the types and quality of the work. To make it financially viable, we would need a minimum of 5 students per session at a consistent day of week, time, and location. The cost would be $10 per session per child. We will run the survey for a couple weeks, and in early February, we will see if the responses warrant setting up regular meetings.

Here are some examples of videos that we make in different settings:
The Bloom Report is the longest running show we have made. It has been in production over 14 years and is still going strong. In 2024, there are over 120 kids in the Bloom Media Club. The show is called “The Bloom Report”, which is a mixture of news and information at Bloom Elementary, Here is one example episode:
We have a similar club at Coleridge Taylor Elementary. Since the school mascot is the monarch butterfly, the show is called “The Monarch”. Here is one episode:
We run Video Camps where we often focus on skit based videos. In January, 2024, we ran a video club with around 40 kids. Here is one example video that features Brigid’s kids Graham and Angus Caldwell.
